Gino & Tony's Engagement, Flying Cloud Farm Petaluma, CA

YAY! Love always triumphs! On Monday June 16th, 2008 I had the honor and privilege to photograph the weddings of 16 same sex couples at San Francisco's City Hall. Marriage equality for all is something I deeply believe in, so I was and am very touched to have been chosen by Gino and Tony to photograph their wedding next year.

It was clear from the get go that this couple was madly in love with one another. We started the session at the couple's home in Petaluma. Gino was a riot, escorting me in and putting me straight to work on handwriting the signs he and Tony intended to use for the shoot. Tony's coy little smile while Gino hurried about gathering sentimental props (Gino only drinks white wine and Tony only drinks Corona Light) totally made me giggle. Gino and Tony met at Home Depot, so, donning matching shirts, I photographed them with a light homage to the improvement store. After a few more pics with a neighbor's goat, we made our way to Flying Cloud Farm, the picturesque spot for their wedding next year. The ranch manager, Jeanette, and Ali Di Luvio, Tony and Gino's wedding coordinator, met us on site with a gorgeous horse named Levi, who was a glorious asset to the shoot. I had such an amazing time photographing this same-sex engagement shoot, and hope to shoot many many more in the future!

Roxanne & John, City Hall, San Francisco, CA

Who says you need to have blue skies for a wonderful wedding? Roxanne and John got married on a poetically foggy-rainy San Francisco day. City Hall was a classic choice for this dapper couple. The architecture there is jaw dropping, and I was especially excited when Roxanne and John took me up on having their ceremony on the 4th floor. The half moon windows and molding on the top floor of City Hall made for an exceptional backdrop. After a gorgeous ceremony we were off to ride a cable car to the Top of the Mark! It was an intimate reception with the city and fog floating around the guests, giving us all a 360 degree view. As a San Francisco native myself, in love with my city, this was a perfectly sweet San Francisco wedding.
